THE 1910 SEASON:
The three matches on Buller’s list were lost:-
v. Marlborough At Blenheim Lost 8 to 14 {Seddon Shield}
v. West Coast At Greymouth Lost 0 to 16
v. West Coast At Westport Lost 12 to 13
Samuel Bligh (Westport) became Buller’s first All Black this year, going to Australia with the New Zealand side to play in four games; he also appeared against Wellington prior to the team’s departure for overseas.
Samuel Bligh did not play for Buller in 1910, his last appearance being in 1908.
In 1909 he represented West Coast and also South Island from that Union; he was a forward.
The Union again had two players in the South Island XV:
Robt. A. Colvin (Westport White Star), for the second time, and Clement Green (Westport).
