THE 1919 SEASON:
When activities were resumed after the War, Buller was required to defend the Seddon Shield on three occasions, a draw and two wins resulting; one other match completed the season:

v. Nelson At Westport Drew 3 to 3 {Seddon Shield}
v. West Coast At Westport Won 14 to 6 {Seddon Shield}
v. Marlborough At Westport Won 13 to 5 {Seddon Shield}
v. West Coast At Greymouth Won 8 to 6

Thomas Fisher (Hill United) was a member of the South Island XV in the Inter-Island match; it was his second appearance for South Island.

Affiliations were increased by one, Mokihinui Club being accepted at the Annual Meeting.

A change of name was agreed to in the case of St Andrew’s Club, permission being granted to use the title of Westport Rival Club; this was the second Club of that name to be an affiliation of Buller Union.
