Hi everyone – see below an update regarding the postponement of JAB rugby for this Saturday 15th August.

Senior Finals – a decision regarding the senior finals will be made following the government announcement tomorrow at 4pm.

COVID UPDATE – 13/8/20 – 4pm:

Kia Ora.

The BRU have decided that ALL JAB games scheduled to play this weekend, Saturday 15th August will be postponed. This includes the combined grades with West Coast RFU who have also postponed JAB rugby this weekend.

The BRU will reassess the rest of the JAB season after the weekend based on the Government announcement on Alert Levels.

The BRU Breakfast club will also be postponed this Saturday.

While we realise this may be disappointing for many players and supporters, the health and well being of our community must be put first.

Thanks
BRU
Kind regards
Andrew

COVID UPDATE 13/8/20 8am

As it currently stands – the level 2 restriction is to be lifted before Saturday. In this case – all rugby remains on.

Should the Level 2 restriction be extended and remain in place this coming Saturday – all rugby will be postponed this weekend. Under the NZ Rugby guidelines and Govt advice, we can not comply with various aspects to allow rugby to go ahead. Things such as mass gathering of 100, contact tracing with multiple entrances, rugby clubroom restrictions (physical distancing, seated and single server). There is not enough time or resources available to get this operational before this Saturday.

For clarity – Level 3 and Level 4 – all rugby will be suspended for the season.

Training’s at Level 2 – teams may continue to train provided they meet their club Health and Safety plan which was submitted to BRU earlier this year. Delegates can obtain the forms by emailing andrew@bullerrugby.co.nz

To recap what the following alert levels mean for this Saturday 15th August:

Level 1 – All rugby remains on.

Level 2 – All rugby is postponed for Saturday 15th August.

Level 3 – All rugby suspended until further notice.

As we know, things are subject to change quite rapidly so please keep up to date with our website and social media for further announcements.
