Phill Gower as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from 3rd March. Phill brings a wealth of management experience, having successfully led teams in various sectors, with a proven track record in strategic planning, operations, and stakeholder engagement. His leadership skills, combined with his lifelong passion for rugby, position him perfectly to drive the growth and development of Buller Rugby.

Sharon, hailing from a proud Buller Rugby family, exemplifies professionalism and dedication in her role as Executive Director. A qualified accountant, Sharon brings an exceptional level of expertise and integrity to the organisation. Working closely with CEO Phill Gower, she provides stable and effective leadership, ensuring that Buller Rugby Union thrives.

Sharon’s financial management skills and unwavering commitment to the organisation play a crucial role in maintaining smooth and efficient operations. Beyond her executive responsibilities, Sharon also serves on the BRU board, further contributing to the strategic direction and success of Buller Rugby Union.

Stella, born and raised in the Buller, has deep roots in the community, with her parents and three siblings still residing here. After completing her tertiary studies in Otago, Stella embarked on her professional journey by joining Buller Rugby Union in March 2023.

In her role as Rugby Development Officer, Stella is passionately dedicated to developing junior rugby, with a strong focus on supporting and expanding the female game. Her enthusiasm for rugby and unwavering commitment to nurturing young talent make her an invaluable asset to the Buller Rugby Union team. Stella’s energy and vision are driving forces in the continued growth and success of rugby in the region.
