Welcome to the Buller Rugby Union’s website, your gateway to rugby in the Northwestern region of the South Island. Our union caters to players of all ages, offering Club rugby starting from Under 5s and extending to Senior and Golden oldies rugby. Additionally, we proudly support various provincial representative teams.
Throughout the year, we host numerous tournaments involving both clubs and schools. The Buller Union encompasses several clubs including Karamea RFC, Ngakawau RFC, Old Boys RFC, Reefton RFC, Westport RFC, White Star RFC, and Buller Māori Rugby. Furthermore, we actively engage in rugby development programs across secondary and primary schools within the expansive Buller region.
As an affiliate of NZR, our Senior Team competes in New Zealand’s Heartland Championship and has demonstrated a commendable performance record in this competition.
We are also one of six unions constituting the Crusaders franchise, alongside Tasman, West Coast, South Canterbury, Mid Canterbury, and Canterbury.
